Projects
One King West Condo - Toronto, Ontario
Winner of the 2008 Design Exchange Interior Design Award of Merit. This complete restructuring of a two bedroom hotel suite used modern materials and a monochromatic colour scheme to create two fully functional offices and two ultra-modern bathrooms, while still incorporating fold out sleeping for 4 people. Stainless steel, white marble, black stained ash, dark maple floor and glass all come together to create an expansive look for a tiny space.
ACC Platinum Club - Toronto Ontario
A 1.8 million dollar renovation of an existing private restaurant within Toronto's Air Canada Centre, showcases luxurious materials, a rich and subtle colour palette and innovative design. What once was a vast open restaurant, has been divided into intimate, yet striking spaces that are both glamorous yet comfortable. Custom made hand-blown light fixtures, dark emporador marble, glowing onyx, mother of pearl, mica wall covering and a 5000 bottle wine cellar are just a few features that make this project shine.
Lakeside Project - Halliburton, Ontario
Winner of the 2004 ARIDO Residential Award of Excellence. This modern cottage in the Canadian shield incorporates a balance of minimalism, the warmth of exotic woods and classic furniture to create a lakeside retreat that allows the natural surroundings to work in harmony with a clean, yet comfortable interior.
Bellair Condo - Toronto, Ontario
Winner of the 2005 ARIDO Aware of Merit. This 3500 sq. foot downtown condominium showcases the possibilities of what a designer can do when given a pre-build clean slate. The floor plan was manipulated to expand the open-concept living space, to create dramatic corridors, and to encapsulate a boutique hotel feel. The design reinforces a common theme among Fleur-de-lis' work, where the sharp contrast of hard surfaces like leather, glass and stainless steel are countered and balanced by the use of rich exotic woods.
Port Credit - Port Credit, Ontario
This reorganization of a developer's townhouse project exemplifies timeless design and planning. Defining spaces by creative use of flooring materials, ceiling details and custom millwork, expanded the look of this 4000 square foot townhouse to create an “entertaining friendly” open concept space. The project, now 10 years old, still exudes a timeless, modern feel, and an atmosphere of luxury in all its finishes.
White Oak Spa and Resort - Niagara, Ontario
This renovation of a modern health spa in St. Catherine’s, Ontario, uses a combination of zen-like natural materials in sharp contrast to the industrial building core and the state-of-the-art fitness equipment to still create an interesting, yet user-friendly space. Rustic slate, resilient Jatoba wood, custom carpet tile, and glass blend together with sculptural furniture and creative lighting.
Summerhill Avenue Residence - Toronto, Ontario
The walls of this typical Victorian, 17 foot wide detached home in downtown Toronto, were removed to create this open-concept living and bedroom space. The prevalent use of industrial materials, like hot rolled and stainless steels, are softened by the richness of dark stained wenge millwork, bamboo floors and glowing mica ceiling panels. The clean modern kitchen flows into a sculptural eating bar and is open to a cozy dining space that mixes an upholstered banquette and antique harvest table with sculptural-chrome chairs.
Eglinton Ave Loft - Toronto, Ontario
Creating intimacy in a high-ceiling industrial loft space was the challenge. A combination of classic-modern design pieces, mixed with retro 70s antique store finds and over-the-top gilt pieces merge together to give this modern space an eclectic feel.
Bailey Residence - Oakville, Ontario
Creating a home for a Canadian national sports icon ups the challenge for combining clean-modern design with oversized drama. Double and triple volume spaces were made intimate with the use of large scale and architectural design elements. The overall light colour palette is contrasted sharply with the use of black accents to create theatrical spaces.
Garment Factory Lofts - Toronto, Ontario
The viability of any condominium project is based largely upon the public's reaction to the sales centre and model suite. Bold graphics, glass walls and lime green accents provide the punch to draw the potential buyer into this loft-conversion sales centre. The model suite showcases nothing but the carefully selected standard finishes available to the buyers and contrasts them with an atmosphere that is both eclectic and modern, creating a “show house” that the buyer could instantly relate to. High-end enough to be glitzy, and retro enough to be approachable, this model suite creates a hip downtown living atmosphere.
